Hi All,

I am 1/35 German tank fan, never done any RC in my life.

Anyone has comments or ratings for 1/35 Tamiya Tiger I or II? I thought of acquring one from the local hobby store as a present for myself...

I am just worried that the kit would look like the 1980s Tigers from old tamiya mould... and with flimsy parts that break once you "crash" the tiger....

Anyone any comments?

The 1/35 scale RC tanks are from the 1990s molds. I've got the M1A1 and it is basically the same as their Desert Storm era M1A1 with an RC pack.

I bought a Tamiya Tiger I early type, 1/35 plastic kit, which has great accuracy, the parts dont come moulded to the hull, fortunately you have a lot of work to do!

Of course I planned to make it live again, and built the complete drive system, it has 16 torsion bars, made from 0.5 mm piano wire, you can see the suspension working here:

the gearing was made from two gutted servos but I'm planning to make it brand new using two old printer reduction gears. I recently bought the Friulmodel metal tracks, so still more job to do.

Regards
Robert
