A few of us armor guys have been working on a comprehensive M1 Abrams kit resource list. It should be ready in a few weeks. It basically will list all the M1 kits and detail sets, books, etc. and give reviews of the items. It will also list the modifications necessary to accurize each kit into its true form.

I'll keep you guys informed of the project's status.

Are other things like this in planing? I find myself wanting to do things, but can't get a hold of the background material.

Sounds like a great idea Sabot! I started a list for the M4 kits intended for myself, but would be more than willing to share. The main hassle I've been having with the M4 and all the update sets and add-ons etc., is finding out which ones are discontinued and where to find the ones that are not.

Speaking of projects I am still procrastinating on finishing my 60 years of Sherman article. I, like Brian, am having trouble assembling enough good info. If anyone runs across any good M4 stats, pics, etc. please let me know.

Rob - Good luck with the M1 project!

Ken, there are at least two books recently released on the M4 Sherman models:
The first is Modeler's Guide to the Sherman, by Pete Harlem, Ampersand Publishing. It includes a guide of all 1/35 scale kits and accessories (OOP too) and over a dozen build up reviews of various Sherman variants. (1999)
The second is Osprey Modelling Manuals #14 M4 Sherman. It includes build up reviews of the most recent Sherman kits. (2001)

If you can find the first one, it is highly recommended.

Rob, Thank you very much! I knew somewhere there was a book for this, but had no idea of from who and what and where. Instead I tried to make my own...no more. Thanks again for saving me the hassle of keeping the aspirin close by!
