AFV Modeller magazines have been covering armor models for some time. Now they have annnounced an interesting how to book, and I think Sherman fans will approve.
AFV Modeller Publications have announced a new book to be released soon, M4 - Modelling the Sherman Tank. According the publisher the book will contain 13 modelling stories based on this famous tank. The articles are from well known modellers from around the world. This could prove to be a great addition to any collection.

The book is to be available very soon, and will be available in print or digitally through the Apple App Store or Android Market.

Is this a collection of previously published articles, or are they all/some new?

I have every single AFV Modeller issue and none of these have ever appeared in that magazine. Whether these models have been featured in other mags I couldn't say. I have zero interest in Shermans, but knowing the high quality of AFV Modeller publications will probably pick this up just to have on the shelf and refer to for painting and weathering.

I do like AFV Modeller a lot, but if I have one criticism its that they tend to skip over the build very quickly in articles and concentrate more on painting and weathering. Thats fine but in a book like this I'd be looking for articles that focus much more on the build due to the difference in types of Sherman and manufacturers Do we know if the balance of build to finish is different in these articles than it is in the magazine?

The only problem I can see is that these superbly built kits will spawn many errors such as the M32 depicted. The Mine roller is not compatible with the M32 due to Drive mechanism. The "Avenger" has already been discussed here and elsewhere and has just a bit to much speculation based on no knowledge of the real things. Having been so negative the cover shot looks great and I'm sure it will be inspiring and well on its way to my library. CHeers Al
