Any difference between this and earlier DUKW's, or just a straight re-release? Why don't they release a water-line version for water dio's?

How good is this kit?

Needs lots of work to bring out any real level of detail. But it mostly fits, and delivers the basic shapes found in 1:1 DUKWs.

looks like no change from the original release, the side ribs still appear to have the post war cut outs that were added to drain the ribs of water.

If the pics of the sprues are complete, the parts for the tirepressure - regulation are missing. These are essential ... for a correct build. They did this already with the "British version" i managed to ged the missing sprues from the german distributor but it would be the same fault done the second time. Rgeards Christian

A boat load (DUKW load) of reference photos on this vehicle can be seen at: LINK Too bad about the still missing tire inflator equipment and the missing side skirts. Also filling those drain cutouts in the hull sides would have been a relatively easy mold fix. Then Italeri's PR guy wculd have really had something to brag about!

I wish these guys would join the 21st Century when it comes to their products. This is just a re-hash of an older kit with little to nothing to improve a poor kit. They have slid down hill in this business. I bought this kit several years ago and it still resides inside the box and is placed in the 'I'll finish this lousy kit when I'm 98 and a half years old'. Pass on this clunker ad buy from Dragon or somebody else as this one even a duck couldn't love it. Ironmike

Just in case you missed it the first time around. (Actually, I wouldn't mind if Dragon were to re-release some of their Smart Kits from 10 yrs ago [including PE and the turned aluminum barrels])
