Awesome! Been a big fan of Andy Cairns' sculpting style and subject choices. What period would these mercs cover? Could they be re-purposed as modern French Army / Foreign legion serving as peacekeepers in Mali?? Did a "Wild Geese" dio as a kid --- looks like it could be time for a grown up version. Thanks, Mario!! With Regards and Aloha, Johnny B.

Hey Johnny B., I like the way you think! I recently re-watched "Wild Geese", my first time as an adult. I vividly remember watching it non-stop on cable as a kid. As for the figures, usually I'll build something and then search for a crew. However, when it comes to AC Models, it's the opposite, figures in search of a project. These guys are no exception to that.

What sprang to mind for me was the book "Devil's Guard" by a George Elford covering tales of ex German Army/Waffen SS soldiers in Indochina fighting for the French Foreign Legion. These figures (plus the book) are truly inspirational; does anyone in the UK stock them? Does anyone else recall the book? It seemed to be prescribed reading for most young soldiers back in the 70s.

Seeing these figures brings to mind a good friend of mines dad Col Mad Mike Hoare who was a mercenary leader in Katanga in the 60 s and was responsible for the failed coup in the Secheylle islands in !980. To build and paint them would make a great tribute to the man.

Great looking figures, they can be used for darn near any time period just by swapping heads, central America comes to mind.

Fantastic! With a very few changes, one can cover a large timeframe.
