Kinetic announced their RG-31 Mk5 in 1/35 scale quite some time ago. Now their Facebook page claims the model will be released in October 2016.
61015 - RG-31 Mk5

The RG31 Mk5 is a 4×4 armoured mine-protected personnel carrier vehicle (MPV) developed by BAE Systems in South Africa. The Mk5 is a standard variant in the RG-31 family and specially designed for resisting improvised explosives and mines.

The photo attached to this news report probably shows the boxart of the upcoming kit.

Thanks for the update. Already on preorder at Luckymodel! I hope they decided to give more effort in AFV releases! Just to remind their past announcements (RG-33L, new MATV, Bushmaster, M109 Doher, FAASV)

A bit confused with the different versions. What is the version of this kit ? LINK

There are basically three versions of the RG-31. The Mk3 (the first initial release of Kinetic), the Mk5 (new Kinetic offering) and the Mk5E (i hope Kinetic will also release it in the future). The differences between Mk3 and MK5 are dimensions (the Mk3 is much smaller compared to Mk5 variants), the engine, armament and personnel protection and many more. For comparison reasons notice the following photos. RG-31MK3, RG-31MK5 and RG-31MK5E.

I believe that both MK5 and MK5E can be fitted with bar armor. See links below LINK It seems to be a MK5 and in this LINK it seems to be a MK5E

I took the photo of the Mk 5E at Camp Phoenix, Kabul in 2008. I am looking forward to a model as I am building a diorama of one of our convoys. The academy M1151 come with my teams markings right out of the box, FYI.
