Another huge vehicle from Takom, the Krupp Räumer S, a WWII German mine clearing monster.
The Schweres Minenräumfahrzeug, was a prototype built by Krupp in 1944, hence its name also of Krupp Räumer S.

It was really big, with 2.7m wheels and 130 tons of weight. The vehicle was articulated in the centre, and each section had its own Maybach HL90 engine.

The kit has workable wheels and the doors can be modelled open.

Irregardless, anything can be done with Steam! And an Edison Magneto Generator, which includes a induction fly wheel and a Sikorsky Introvertor.

From what I've read, it's unknown what eventually happed to the prototype.

LuckyModel has it on pre-order now for $37 + shipping. I ordered one for a crazy reason - I'd like to paint it with a camo scheme of dragon scales and add some side guns kind of like a WWI tank. Maybe a flamethrower too.

$37?! Wow, that's surprisingly cheap for something that's going to be 17" long when built!

Can't help but thinking of this H.P.

Komodo Dragon, perfect. Not sure what to use for the forked tongue. Maybe the hedgerow cutter they used in France.

Regardless of colour schemes or what happened to the prototype, the point is that this is another example of BIG & COOL. Weird, though that at this late period in the war that anyone in the German arms procurement division would be worried about plowing-up enemy mine fields with the Allies closing in rapidly all around...

which way is the front? I guess that's why there are no rear view side mirrors.
