Italeri once more makes available its kit of the WWII-era American tank destroyer.
The M36 mounted a 90mm gun mounted on the hull of the M10 tank destroyer. It first saw action in Europe late 1944 and proven itself as a capable replacement to the M10. It was also deployed during the Korean War, able to defeat Soviet armor of that era.

Italeri’s 90mm Gun Motor Carriage M36B1 (6538) is a 1/35 scale plastic kit, that features photo-etched parts, and new gluable tracks. A decal sheet for three finishing options is also provided.

Background information on the vehicle sourced from Wikipedia.

They have. Most of their latest releases have a softer material for the band track. But you have to get the newest reissues. Sorry to say but even with a nice new decal sheet this runs a poor second to the Academy kit.

*Wish It says they included new track in the softer cementable plastic material. The Academy kit is still better.

So is it weak in detail? Like the M -110 I am working on, well make that trying to work on. Jeff

Very much. Just look at the engineering on the M3 gun breech.

Its a re release of that same old dog of a kit they had back in the late 80's or early 90's

They have added the half-roof over the turret though ... Even if the rest is the same. My spontaneous question was: Why? But maybe they think there is a market for it .... / Robin

Instead of this needless re-re-release, I'd rather see Tasca/Asuka tackle this vehicle.

yes but it does add one piece not in that in the form of PE Roof overhead armour. Still the poorer option compared to Academy

Having looked at both I'd take the Academy kit and never look back.
