Vallejo has informed us about three new paint sets with the colors needed for US Modern Desert camo scheme, Israel Defense Force and MERDC Desert.

Reference 71.209 US Modern Desert Colors is a set of Acrylic airbrush colors for highlights, shadows and volumes.

A set designed to show effects of light, shadow and volume on modern US AFV models as well as on other vehicles in a desert environment.

The references included allow the application of several concepts such as panel and zenithal light or color modulation with transition from dark shadow to lighter tones, creating the perception of volume.

The set Includes step by step instructions to suggest the process of painting and highlights.

Set 71.210 IDF Colors (Israeli Defence Force) allows to paint IDF army vehicles from 1957 to present.

Finally modelers have a set to paint the Israeli Defense Force without having to mix several references or undertaking previous research.

This set includes the OD used on the operative vehicles in the beginning of the 1956 Sinai War, the 67 Sand Grey color used in the beginning of the Six Days War, the 73 Sand Grey of the Yom Kippur conflict, the 82 Sinai Grey deployed in Lebanon and the actual shade of 87 Tan Green.

Set 71.212 MERDC Desert Colors (Mobility Equipment Reseach & Design Command) has six acrylic airbrush colors for US army vehicles

In the 1970s, the US Mobility Equipment Research & Design Command (MERDC) developed a camouflage pattern color system for vehicles of the United States Army.

This consisted of a color scheme of standardized patterns for each vehicle, to be used with twelve colors. This set includes all the tones needed to represent the Gray and Red Desert patterns.
