Hey, Bill! That LVTP5A1 looks VERRRY FAMILIAR, to ME!!! I thoroughly enjoyed your story on THAT ONE!!! GREAT JOB!!! Someday, I'll crack my kit open and build one one that's a near twin to yours!!! I've got the DRAGON "Mule" too, but I have other plans for how I wind up using it. Have you ever ever seen the VERY short 'Nam film clip of the "arty" coming down, I believe during the Tet Offensive, with the Mule Driver driving it and trying to avoid being hit? I've had an idea buzzing around inside my head to create a small vignette along similar lines- Possibly with the driver finally ditching the Mule and "bailing" himself into a Marine slit-trench or dug-out..? How EXACTLY I'll bring this idea to life, I haven't quite figured out yet...

Wow. Super excited about this. The canvas dust cover around the barrel-turret connection looks less realistic, but otherwise ... Is AFV Club related to Amusing Hobby/MMCT (who had previously announced a future LVTH6)?

It looks pretty much spot-on to me.

Gino - I'm looking at Vietnam war photos and the dust covers appear to be different (and may actually be so from those used by the Taiwanese armed forces). As compared to the initial representation in the kit: Whew - finally able to figure out embedded images! And adding a few more current images, which support the more "accordian" like look of the AFV Club kit:

I've been waiting for this kit forever. I served with the 1st Armored Amphibian Company in Vietnam. I was with the units 1st Plt. as a loader then gunner on 13 Jr and crew chief on 11 . I have some pics but don't know how to load them.

I wonder how many builders of WWII-era British subjects are saying "This is useless?"

From what I understand, the resin figure will only be included in the first batch of the kit on the local Taiwanese market. Not in the export release...

I think I remember this being talked about a number of years back-but had doubts it would happen. This is absolutely thrilling news!

YAT-YAS!!! I too have been waiting on release of this kit since announced over year ago. All my time was on AAV7's but, had opportunity to see those still in service with Philippine Marines in '00. I even brought home a data plate from one the P5's that was no longer in service.
