Yippee! Glueable tracks .....

Looks like Tamiya and Italeri are right back at it, in full blown, head-to-head competition, in the re-release department.

This isn't a re-release. Outside of the hull tub and basic suspension, this is all new. Tamiya just added tracks and a few detail pieces. Now why Italeri didn't do link and length track is a puzzle considering they did it for the 38(t), Pzkpfw IV and Pzkpfw I.

Sprue layouts are different. I compared the Tamiya re-box with the new kit from Italeri. The main gun seems to be the same though and the same fugly tracks except for being glueable. The hull is now a flat-pack instead of a tub.

The only complaint I have is the lack of a pointing figure for the German markings. But I've never built a Semovente and like the way this one looks. And when link-n-length tracks are produced, I'll get some.

Well they did give you Wehrmacht stamped Jerry cans...

I checked the sprues on Italeri's site , while some look very nice I swear some are 1970s vintage . Just look at those horrible looking crew figures . I'm sure if I looked in my spares box I'ld still find one or two .... IRC Miniart has a nice Italian AFV crew

The model is a mix of old and new parts. Old parts are suspension, pillbox, 75/18 gun and some others. All the others are new. Some rumors in Italy say this is sort of "simplified" model from a totally new project (semovente M43 da 75/34) which Italeri made for another model company.
