What ever you think about Voyager you cannot accuse them of being slow when it comes to new photo etched sets for new model releases. In this multi part news story Voyager has released 2 new products for the recently released AFV Club US LVT-4 Water Buffalo Landing Vehicle Tracked in 1/35th scale. One of these products is something I never thought I would see for a 1/35th scale model vehicles, let’s take a look at what is on offer.
Firstly I will mention that one complaint levelled at Voyager with every new release is the fact that they always show all of the sets for the model in question in the supplied pictures, in order to overcome this I have included pictures of the other sets mentioned at the end of this news release. I hope this will keep everyone happy.

The first new release for this vehicle is PE35448 which consists of five photo etched frets, and addresses items such as the gun shields, light guards, front track guards and the like. This equates to the usual items we expect to see in photo etched sets these days, but are none the less very welcome. Now for the second set which I never thought I would see is PEA266 which is a workable photo etched tracks! This set consists of twenty identical photo etched frets which I am sure the photo etched junkies will love and drive everyone else mad while they build them.

Photoetch tracks you couldn't pay me enough to put a set of them together LOL! The 50 cal. barrels look amazing, it's almost sinful to paint over them. cheers

Don't worry Rick, I won't. It's your hobby, remember? OT: great sets, thanks Darren. Peter

If you look closely at the photo for the track set, note that the assembled "run" of tracks shown by the fret is eight links - in other words, the product of a single fret. Also that the pictured LVT-4 still has the vinyl tracks fitted. In other words, even Voyager weren't up to assembling a full set - they probably had to drag the guy who put together that single fret (how many dozen tiny PE bolts to make up eight links?) off for a stay in a rubber room somewhere, where he still wakes screaming at nights, "The tracks, the nightmarish tracks, keep them away from me!" Note that these aren't the first 1/35th PE tracks on the market - Aber did a set for the BT-5 that, while no sane person would build them, look trivial compared to these.
