The Abrams tank being the US main battle tank and it participation in conflicts in Iraq and now Afghanistan has probably made it the most likely modern AFV model on a modellers shelf or work bench. The release of the DML M1A1 Aim and M1A2 Sep only increased its popularity and the after market manufacturers are quick to keep models of the Abrams up to date, almost as quick as an upgrade is released there is a model update following within weeks or months. In this the second in a series of new releases from Voyager we look at what’s new for the Abrams.
Firstly I will mention that one complaint levelled at Voyager with every new release is the fact that they always show all of the sets for the model in question in the supplied pictures, in order to overcome this I have included pictures of the other sets mentioned at the end of this news release. I hope this will keep everyone happy. Sorry but I was unable to locate a picture of set PE35418.

This set PE35419 is designed for the M1A2 TUSK 2 Abrams and aimed specifically for the DRAGON kit 3536, and it would seem to be a very comprehensive release. Consisting of;
• Twenty photo etched frets.
• Eighteen resin pieces.
• Fourteen turned metal components.
• Four different sizes of rod and wire.
• A sheet of clear plastic.
All in all a very promising release which I am sure will start showing up on builds very soon.

The detail provided in these sets looks stunning, albeit tedious. It appears the effort will be well worth it once the modeller is finished.

Makes me want to get a M1A2 SEP kit just to put all of that METAL on it! As shown in the images, the additional and/or replacement details all together likely cost more than the DML kit does. Then again, Voyager's sets are extensive and appear to be worth it.
