Introduction

ICM have added yet another useful item for modellers to their kit accessory range in the form of the Soviet MG 1910/30.

The Kit

The kit comes packed in a sturdy cardboard box with a colour image of the painted gun on the top, along with the manufactures logo and product details. The kit consists of 3 small sprues of buff coloured plastic parts, which are contained in a clear re-sealable envelope. Build instructions come on an A5 four side sheet and show 10 logical steps to complete the gun. The instructions also give suggested model master colours for painting the item. The kit consists of 27 parts.

The parts are beautifully made, with no flash, just crisp detail. Some are quite tiny and delicate so careful handing will be required when constructing the gun. The gun can be built in either the transport position or the firing position. A belt of ammunition is provided along with one ammunition box.

Conclusion

This looks like another excellent addition to their range of weapons and equipment sets. The detail is very sharp and the kit should build and paint up into a very nice representation of the weapon. As a stand alone item or within a bigger scene this will add interest to anything you build.

ICM have recently produced some excellent weapon sets and with this one as with their MG 1910 there is a lot more choice around for modellers.

Greying slightly, but young at heart. I've been teaching adults off and on for most of my life. Left the services in 85 and first started modelling in about 87 for a few years. Then I had a long spell when I didn't build anything (too busy) and really just got started again during the summer of ...

Hi folks, I found this picture on IWM archives of captured Russian Weapons on the Somme in 1916 (Battle of Albert). Would any of our German experts know if they (the Germans) used same during the battle. Thanks Al
