Half a Glider
Horsa Glider Wings, rear fuselage and Tail

Introduction

When Bronco Models released their Horsa Mk 1 Glider most of the concerns were the sheer size of the completed model. Bronco Models has now released the outer wing lengths, rear fuselage and tail which makes for a more manageable size diorama wise.

The product is well packed in a box that will be fair cheaper to pay postage on, and should survive postage quite well.

Review

My first impressions of this offering are good as they have the usual high standards of Bronco Models. There are no obvious moulding issues that catch my eye with this offering. The detail is exactly the same as the full model offering and provides three good sized model segments for a diorama, segments that will be ideal items to display with one or more of the many Bronco Models Airborne offerings.

The wings have spar detail present which will save the modeller a lot of work had they been missing. The control surfaces are moveable and so offers some details to distract the viewer’s eye. The rear fuselage also has the spar detail present and this adds a very pleasing distraction to the eye. The tail and horizontal stabilisers again have moveable control surfaces.

Conclusion

There is not really a lot more to say about this product as it kind of speaks for itself. The three main segments all make for a good sized, but manageable diorama size. With gliders usually suffering heavy damage you will obviously want to take the saw to some parts, I suspect; the supplied internal detail will greatly improve this facet of displaying the model.
SUMMARY
Highs: Three good sized segments for use in diorama settings and possibly even vignettes if seriously cut back.
Lows: No obvious issues of which I am aware.
Verdict: If the full kit is too big this may be right up your street.
