Armo KV-1 Barrel

by: Saúl García [ SHARKMOUTH ]

the barrel

The barrel arrives in a package in re-sealable bag with header. Inside this bag, the barrel is tucked into another cellophane bag to protect it from scratching.

As usual, the barrel is smooth with no tool marks or blemishes.

It is in one piece to replace the Trumpeter kit offering. It does not offer any corrections but does save time from having to remove the seams. In the photograph you can see how the barrel is a tight fit to the mantlet and matches the kit item in every respect. The muzzle is drilled to approximately .375 inches deep but does not have any rifling. Had Armo included a PE fret with rifling, the rating would be higher. Armo has done this in the past with other barrels.

As for accuracy, I have not found any plans I trust yet.

Thank you to Jadar Hobby for the review sample.
SUMMARY
Armo of Poland has built a reputation for high quality turned aluminum barrel. Now, they have introduced a turned aluminum barrel for Trumpeter's KV series with long gun. I hope to use my sample on the Model 1942 Simplified Turret kit.
