by: Engin Kayral [ GRAYWOLF ]

Introduction

One of the latest kits of BRAVO*6 is B6-35312 Lazy Afternoon depicting U.S. Tankers sitting on the hull of an M551 Sheridan. Inspired by Tamiya’s latest M551, Vladimir Demchenko sculpted a series of U.S. Tank Crew figures for this tank; previously reviewed 35308 US Tank Crew, 35311 Body & Soul and upcoming kit 35317 Puppy.
Review

  • Figures come in company’s typical cardboard box labeled with boxart photo showing them on Sheridan hull. Body parts and other small parts like head and arms are served in seperate zip-lock bags.

Sculpted in 1/35 scale, parts are cast in gray resin in crisp details and represented with easy to remove casting blocks. There is no casting mistakes or sinkholes on the figures but a few seamlines to clean on the outer parts of arms and lower parts of the legs.

  • Body postures and proportions ,cloth folds, wrinkles and details on uniforms are well sculpted and look realistic.

    FIGURE-A
is posed to sit on the Armored Commander Cupola with arms on the side plates. He wears M69 Flak vest over his naked chest. Details of the vest like 3/4 collar, two chest pockets with popper closures, webbing loops above pockets, side adjustments with laces, front zipper flap cover are well defined. The back side of the vest is flattened for the fit to the cupola armor back plate. Facial details and hair are nicely sculpted and dogtag on the neck is a very nice touch. He has 3rd pattern tropical combat Trousers with trotters inserted into 2nd pattern leather-canvas combined Jungle boots. Arms show nice muscles and make good fit to the shoulders.

    FIGURE-B
is posed to sit on the driver’s open hatch. He wears OD undershirt, standard trousers and boots. Head shows nice facial figures and is given as a seperate part that can be assembled in different positions. Arms are cast in short sleeves of undershirt. Right arm is put on the right knee and carries a cigarette. Left arm is posed to put on the left thigh.

  • CVC-Combat Vehicle Crewmen helmet - 2 pieces. Details on the helmet like studs retaining the liner, Exterior draw string on the right side to snug up the earphone cup for a better fit, Send/Receive switch box on the left and Earphones inside the helmet are well defined.

  • Photoetched sheet - 4 PE boom microphone of 2 different types for CVC Helmet

    Conclusion

Another nice additon to static posed Vietnam War tanker figures of BRAVO-6. Good poses, clean and crisp details and flawless cast. Great figures to display with all United States tanks and armored vehicles.

    Highly Recommended
