BR 52 Interior set

by: Vinnie Branigan [ TEACHER ]

the set
Although this is a first-look review, a full-build of the Trumpeter BR 52 Locomotive using all 4 of Eduard's sets will shortly be available to read as a Feature article.

The 'workroom' of the Trumpeter BR 52 Locomotive, is of course the Engineer's footplate, and although well appointed by Trumpeter, it's heavily simplified and could really benefit from dressing up with photo etch.

This set from Eduard is for the interior only, and really gives it a boost! The set is contained on three frets of photo etch and begins by replacing all the dials and gauges on the rear of the boiler. There is even a small paper insert included with some dial faces on to include. Many of the small-bore pipes and cables are reproduced as photo etch, and although at first glance these can appear a little 'flat' due to the nature of photo etch, remember that these will have to be viewed on the finished model through the windows, and so they'll still look effective. Many of the levers can easily be given a more three dimensional appearance with superglue even.

Along with the dials, gauges and pipework for the rear of the boiler, there also various fitting for the sidewalls, rear wall and roof. Full frames for the windows and doors, again various pipework, door handles etc. are included and will really add up to give the cab that 'busy' look.

in conclusion
This set will quite simply look stunning when installed properly! Very highly recommended!

My thanks to Eduard for the review sample.
