theme-pose
The figure shows a Celtic Nobleman of the Urnfield Culture, dated 10th - 9th cent. BC. The warrior's pose is a classic pose, with his lance over the shoulder and his shield at the side.
box
The figures is delivered in a small box with boxart picture. The boxart is painted by Andreas Strassmeir. The figure parts (10 pieces in white metal) were stored between two foam padsis packed save.
The white metal appears to be very robust and seems like very high quality - the lance is absolutly straight. You also find a extensive painting guide and a significant amount of historical informations about the figure.
Sculpting - Casting
The figure is sculpted by Zsolt Uhrin and Martin Hille and comes along very well. Only the left hand, which is holding the shield looks a little bit too flat. The casting is very good and you find nearly no mold lines. I think it just needs a few miniutes to sand them down, so the figure is ready to be painted very soon.
The pieces of the figure are:
Body with legs and upper arms
Head
Left arm with shield
Right arm with lance
Plait of hair
Sword
Belt for the shield
Figure base
You also find two nameplates in kit box, one in English and one in German.
conclusion
I think the figure is a very interesting piece for all the collectors interested in ancient themes. The figure is very well researched and it will have a lot of fans under collectors interested more in historical correctness than in fantasy figures. The box incluedes a lot of informations about the history.
This is a very well sculpted, casted and presented sculpture.
