The Princess of Night seems to have been inspired by the series of novels written by Anne Rice, The Vampire Chronicles. The main characteristic of Rice's vampires is that they are all excessively emotional, sensitive, and sensual, being easy prey to intense suffering and aesthetic passions. They are usually quite attractive, even beautiful, as vampires tend to make fledglings from humans they have grown to love.Nocturna Models and Alfonso Gozalo(sculptor) have done a wonderful job capturing the beauty in this sculpt.
Packaging - first impression
The figure came packaged in a small plastic flip top container, unfortunately there was no padding inside.Box art consists of a card with a painted image of the figure.
In the Box
The kit comes in light grey resin and consists of 4 pieces. The main body, 2 arms attached to a sprue and the base. All pieces were intact, though as said earlier, no padding, which I would like to see, if only bubble wrap.
Upon close inspection, using my magnified eye wear..Thank God for Optivisors..Mr. Gozalo has done a marvelous job. The detail in his work is wonderful to behold. I found myself staring over and over again. Each time finding more detail. From the beautiful hair to the roses and rose petals. The cross around her neck, her dress and the base. All are top notch. There are a couple of seems to sand and 2 pin holes to fill. Other wise, she's ready to assemble and paint ( Hopefully a future article)
Pose and Fit
The pose of the figure is what attracted me to this kit, it speaks for itself. All pieces in a dry fit matched up beautifully. There will be next to no filling needed.
Highs: Wonderfull pose, subject matter and sculpt. Lows: A little padding goes a long way!!Verdict: A great figure where painting is left to the imagination. Detail is wonderfull and worthy of anyones collection.
