Introduction

The model parts are contained in NOCH's distinctive yellow top opening box that is shrink wrapped for extra security, the box lid is hinged to the tray. A nice touch on the inside of the tray is various village signs in “N”, “TT” and “HO” scale. The card parts are contained in one small resealable bags.

First thing to mention is that this is not a garden set as described in the title. What is contained is three superb looking garden sheds. Inside the box is:
-4 x small sheets of thick card for the walls, floors and underneath the roof.

-1 x small sheet of thinner card with the shingle roof pattern printed on it.
-1 x small sheet of window frames [ x 5] in paper.
-1 x small sheet of clear acetate.
-1 x instruction booklet.
-1 x small tube of UHU wood glue.

The texture of the roofing material and the planks of wood forming the outer walls of the sheds looks first rate. The components even the more complex ones come away from the sheet very easily. There is no folding involved with this release, the parts are simply butted joined using the supplied UHU wood glue. It is important that you glue the window frames and acetate sheet to the inside walls before you start assembling the floor and walls. Otherwise it will be very fiddly trying to fit them because of the small size of these structures. The window frames particularly the Muntins, look superb.

Black line drawings illustrate the four stages of construction for each of the three sheds. Instructions are written in in seven languages:

Conclusions

This is a superb release from NOCH and will look very acceptable on any layout. The quality of the laser cutting and the printing is first rate. I am in need of a garden shed at the moment and I think the one with the porch will serve as a maquette for its design.
