Introduction

Resicast have just released a further 3 Tankers in Pixie Suits to compliment their existing range of 1/35 British Tank Crewmen.

These full body figures will be extremely useful additions for modellers of British/Commonwealth armour and diorama makers. Individually, combined or added to some of their existing sets of tankers these new figures will add to the range of choices modellers have.

Some of their existing sets have already been reviewed here on site and can be found at the links below:

Tanker in Pixy No 2

The figures were sculpted by Gerard De Troeye and the box/package art was done by Christophe Nachtergael.

This is a look at Tanker in Pixy No 3.

The figure

Cast in a light grey resin, the figure comes in the standard Resicast plastic zip bag with a card insert showing the completed and painted figure for reference. The figure comes in 4 parts including the body cast as a whole, separate head with beret, right and left arms as separate items. The figure depicts a crouching tanker.

The casting is excellent and I could see no damage or cause for concern with any of the parts. The figure is dressed in the tankers Pixie Suit. The detail on the body is excellent, the suit has all the correct pockets and straps.

The uniform has nice folds and creases and around the waist the figure wears a 37 pattern belt and pistol holster. The brasses and rear buckles of the belt are nicely replicated. There should be very little clean up necessary other than the removal of the small pour stubs on the feet and arms.

The head is very nicely done showing the face of a young tanker wearing a beret. The right arm is designed to rest on the right knee as is the left arm to left knee. The pose in a crouching position looks very natural.

Conclusion

This is yet another excellent figure form Resicast. As a stand alone figure or added to or with some of the other excellent options available this figure adds more options for the modeller. The figure needs little clean up so you can get to the fun part quickly.

The overall detail is terrific. The other 2 releases in this sequence can be see here:

Resicast Reviews

With the previous releases in this order of dress and these new figures there certainly is an excellent choice of subjects becoming available for both the single figure builder/painter and the diorama builder.

About Alan McNeilly (AlanL)
FROM: ENGLAND - EAST ANGLIA, UNITED KINGDOM

Greying slightly, but young at heart. I've been teaching adults off and on for most of my life. Left the services in 85 and first started modelling in about 87 for a few years. Then I had a long spell when I didn't build anything (too busy) and really just got started again during the summer of ...
