Introduction

SKP Model must be very well known by now for if nothing else their lenses and taillight offerings. Well SKP Model has another set of lenses and taillights on offer this time for the Bronco Model Jeep’s (I believe the title they have given is a little misleading).

Contents

The packaging for the products in the lenses and taillights sets should be well known by now; if the answer to that is no you really should go out and buy a set. In this set you get a single photo etched fret which is packaged in a zip lock bag on a card holder.

Review

The two Ford Jeep releases from Bronco Models represent a big step forward in the modeller’s choice of Jeep models, and this release from SKP Model will only improve the finished look of that model. The lenses and taillights set from SKP Model consists of the two headlights with nice detail behind the clear lenses which really does add realism to this part. Also included in the set are the four red reflectors again with a nice detail behind the red lenses; There are two for the rear of the vehicle and one for each side at the rear, the red reflectors are also supplied with separate backing plates as photo etched parts. Also in the set is what I believe to be the lens for the front left hand side convoy light

The rear light clusters are supplied as a photo etched parts with a single shaped red rear light for the left hand side as you look at the back of the vehicle. SKP model has also included the clear lenses for I believe rear indicators. The last lenses included in this set are white and I believe these are the last two lenses are for the front of the vehicle below the main headlights In the set you will find to wiper blades and arms in photo etch which is a nice inclusion with this set.

Conclusion

I cannot say enough good things about the lenses and taillight sets from SKP Model as this set seems to be complete and unusually includes wiper arms and blades as well. The set when added to your model should really improve not only the accuracy of your model but also adds realism as while lenses can be bought elsewhere SKP Model is the only company I know of who supply a complete set of lenses for specific models. In fact the sets generally are well worth seeking out when a suitable set is available for your specific model.
SUMMARY
Highs: the high point for me is the realistic details behind the lenses which goes a long way to make these the best lenses on the market.
Lows: I would like to see SKP Model supply or make available online directions for application of the lenses.
Verdict: This is an affordable product that really will improve the finished look of your model. Highly recommended.

The oval reflectors provided were only fitted to GPWs after late1943. Fords prior to this date and ALL MBs had round reflectors.

Simon the reflectors are round or are you refering to the single half round on the rear?
APR 15, 2013 - 05:00 AM
I'm referring to the base of the reflector that bolts to the body -not the red bit that reflects the light. Also check your references for the standardised lighting system which was fitted to everything from a Harley to a Sherman as the rear left and right light units are not the same Sk
