Introduction

A short time ago I looked at a set of cans from reality in Scale, set No RIS35127. This is a follow up with a look at set RIS35168 a set of smaller cans that may also be of use to modellers.

The Set

The set comes packed in a neat rectangular hard plastic box. On the top of the box is a label with manufacturer and product details.

Inside the box are 4 cast block with 4 different size cans on each block. The cans are nicely done with nice ring marks on the top and are the same as the two blocks of 4 small cans produced in set RIS35127.

The set comes with a decal sheet for marking the cans and as with the larger set you need to ensure that you cut the decals cleanly from the white backing paper before soaking them and applying them to the cans, otherwise you may have a white edge around the outside of the label. This is highlighted in the decal instructions.

With 16 cans you have 4 sets of 4. The difference with this set is not just the increased quantity of small cans but the decal markings provided, cover French, German and English cans so this should broaden their appeal and use.

Conclusion

Another useful set of cans with the added bonus of having French, German and English labels.

A time line would have been useful as to when these good were produced but as with set RIS25127 a late 20s, early 30s date is probably about right.

SUMMARY
Highs: Nice simple set for diorama builders with the added bonus of various countries of origin.
Lows: A starting time date would be useful.
Verdict: Recommended

Greying slightly, but young at heart. I've been teaching adults off and on for most of my life. Left the services in 85 and first started modelling in about 87 for a few years. Then I had a long spell when I didn't build anything (too busy) and really just got started again during the summer of ...

Hi Chris, Reality in Scale show a list price of 9.95 euro. I can't recall where I actually bought them so check around for best price. You can checkout their products here: http://www.realityinscale.com/epages/61537336.sf/en_US/?ViewAction=View&ObjectID=1092953&Page=5 Cheers Al

LINK Looking at this photo, it seems that print quality (DPI) of added decals are too low. At least for my standards or to show these on some macro shots. Thats an unfortunate thing, because I really would like to use something like this on my projects.
