SS Tank Commander
SS Tank Commander WW2

introduction

The black panzer uniform was found to be much too visible in the winter when personnel were outside their vehicles and it didn’t offer the required amount of insulation for the cold Russian winters. This resulted in the introduction of the heavy, one piece, pull-on coveralls on January 1943, for wear by panzer personnel during the winter. Production was discontinued in late 1943, to be replaced by the reversible winter parka.
EM-35088 depicts an SS Tank Commander in winter clothing with a strong pose. It can be used in any German winter scene and also can be displayed as watching/supervising the latest Winter Painting of Tank figures of the company.
box

The figure comes in standard cardboard box labeled with a painted photo of the assembled figure.
All parts are inserted in a zip-lock bag and represented with easy to remove casting blocks.
parts

Figure is sculpted by Sergey Traviansky and comes in 3 grey resin parts. Sculpting and casting quality once again show high standards of the company. No air bubbles , excess resin or visible seamlines. A short cleanwork to the inner sides of legs will make it ready for priming.

  • Body : Posing with his fists put on waist , he wears a dark grey or black turtleneck sweater worn by Panzer troops. The same sweater was worn by Wehrmacht in natural grey and Kriegsmarine in dark blue. Over the sweater, he has a Panzer Schutzkittel - Panzer Reversible Winter Coveralls. One side was field grey as opposite side was white. It had a vertical, six button front opening running from crotch to nape of neck, two patch-style front breast pockets and two diagonally angled front hip pockets, all with straight edged button down flaps. Coverall had a lay down collar and shoulder straps. All these details and cloth folds are well defined on the figure. He has an Open claw officer's belt on his waist, Woolen Knit Gloves and long boots.

  • Head : Sculpted in nice facial details with a serious expression, he wears a Schirmmützen - Visor cap. Eagle and Totenkopf insignia and piping are well defined.

  • Luger Holster is given as a seperate part to be assembled on the left back.
    conclusion

A multipurpose German Tank commander that can be used with many different vehicles in winter scenes. Sculpt and cast are noticeable as almost all Evolution figures.

    Highly Recommended
