not sure on make of truck but its a single 37mm
Here we have a DAF truck with zu23 used by mercenary forces in Angola

Another zpu2 armed truck from Sierra Leone, could be a British supplied Bedford as i have a pic somewhere of a Bedford with a zpu2 mounted on top of a bunch of pallets

Now for a couple of unimogs used by the Rhodesian Sealous scouts


count the guns on those unimogs talk about fire power

The PLO truck with the 37mm gun looks like a 1960 GMC. The Rhodesian Unimogs remind me of those currently used by Belgian SF guys :

Regarding 37mm: What's the best way to distinguish between the Russian 37mm and a 40mm Bofors. Any direct giveaway one can look for?

Not sure if this works for every model of bofors but the way i use is the elevating/ traversing mechanisms on the bofors tend to be a kranked bar whereas the Russian 37mm has wheel type mechanism.
Not sure if that makes sense but if you look at the pic above on the lefthand side of the gun is the wheel arrangement.

note the kranked bar both sides of the gun. Not sure about every bofors but just checked a pic of an l70 and it still had the bar mechanism.

Nice one Frenchy.
Looks like a Hind rocket pod on top of a brdm turret on a armoured box, very interesting.

I had initially thought BTR-60PB, but BRDM-2 makes much more sense. Why? Because it looks like its not just an armored box, but a section cut from the middle of a BRDM-2, with improvised armor plate on the front (and probably the rear).

Compare the view ports in the middle of the section with this picture:

Thanks for the reminder Nige. IIRC, last time I've spotted this one on eBay, it was more expensive...At least one would have to scratchbuild the rear axle as it's a "pull back action" model.

indeed; this is Ural4320 with a part of BRDM's hull on a trunk, with UB-32-57 rocket launcher mounted on its turret.
These guntrucks were used by Soviet troops in Afghanistan 1987 to protect convoys moved through the valleys and ravines. Rocket launchers have been better for the firing of high edges than machine guns.
They were nicknamed "Метла" ( "Broom" ) by the name of its constructor.
