Nope, pal Russian is my native. In this case could be Katyshenka.

If it might be interesting to somebody, the first nickname of BM-13 was "Raisa Semyonovna" [raeesa], or Rayechka - because of the weapons abbreviation RS-13 (reaktivny snaryad - jet missile). But the very first BM's (based on ZiS truck) has a large letter K on them - that was a marking of Komintern plant (Komintern is "communistic international" - an international communistic organization). That started an era of Katyusha.

Could you also check and make a note on the thread pattern on the tires? I've been told that they were corrected on the Katyusha kit. Thanks for the in-box review!

Hey Lawrence,
I have both ICM kits and the tread pattern has been corrected.
If you look at the bottom right of the boxtop artwork in Bill's first post, you'll notice that they even make note of it.

Thanks for the heads-up! I didn't notice the boxart, I saw too much red! LOL! Will the corrected US6 display this "correct thread pattern" too? The Katyusha kit looks really good - hope I'll get one soon.

Jeff, isn't Italeri kit a GMC built and not the same as the Studebaker?

Italeri's kit's main problem is it is post-war.

As Jacques says, Italeri's kit (and Revell re-boxing) is a post-war variant based on the ZiL-151 truck.

Yikes, thanks Frenchy for the correction - I don't know why I keep thinking that it was the GMC... ZiL-151 truck it is then! Am I right to assume that the rockets and racks are basically the same on the real subjects?

I think you are right but a post war one not as said by Italeri of a WW 2 one.

Dang if I would of read two more posts down I would not have posted oh well.

The ZiL-151 production began in 1947. I've yet to find a Korea War BM-13 variant picture, but I've got one showing a captured ZiL-151 cargo truck in December 1950.
