I like the big ships, but lately have decidedto build all 3 of the major Yamato variations. I semi-scratched an inital in 350, but really wanted to do a set and so opted to do them in 700. No biggie, that is where I started from way back when , when you could buy a BB and AC for $4 and a DD for $1. I had a fleet too. So of course I have to get PE and all the goodies that I normally do in 350. Today my Tom's set arrived. Holy Moly Batman is that stuff small. Well in for a penny in for a pound

When I started my very first 1/700 ship with all the bells and whistles I thought the same thing. What am I doing??

Wait until you begin all the little bending and glueing all those small PE items everywhere. Oh the Humanity!

That's another reason I stay in the larger scales!

Steve - LuckyModel has a special sale going on, which includes FREE SHIPPING to the USA (>100$ USD spent). They have two Fujimi Yamatos on sale, as well as the Tamiya Yamato with detail parts (for 65$ USD, usually sold for 90-130$). Thats the one I ordered, along with the Lion Roar set (also on sale), for only 33$ USD (usually sold for at least double that).

I took his advice. Ordered the middle Yamato, main gun tubes and a wooden deck. May order more tubes and decks after I see what is up. I have the initail yamato already here, o all I need is the final. That can be had all over ebay for near $25

Hey Jim - I wont tell your wife if you dont tell mine!
The deal maker for me was the free shipping, which saved me an additional 50$ USD.
