I remember David as a very helpful guy and I often come across his posts when I'm trawling through old threads looking for something. He was a great asset to the site.

Many thanks for dropping in and it goes without saying that you were one of the many I couldn't list.

On the projects I'm still gathering stuff up lol, lol, things are moving along slowly, but one tends to get diverted by the constant developments in the modelling world, doing reviews (I blame you for that ) and general experiments and devloping things. Many of the early builds I'll go back to and upgrade in some way but it's nice to get the odd model actually completed and I'm getting more of those which is a major step forward.

David was a great inspiration to me when I first joined, helped me immensly in my early builds with sound and cost effective adivce, A very knowledgeable guy who always had time for my constant questions. His posts are as relevant today as they were when he put them up.

On building there is never enough time , with so much new stuff coming out it's hard to keep up and keep track but for the Allies it's a bumper time indeed.

Hope your getting a bit more bench time now too, all the best.

What a great feature, Al! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I always appreciate your modeling style and signature light blue backgrounds! I also appreciate the many reviews you've written. Thank you for pulling this together, and congratulations on being such a prolific modeler over the last five years!

Hey Al,

Is there any British kit you haven't built? I love the Feature - I may have to do one when I hit the five-year mark, but unless I pull my finger out it'll certainly be a whole lot shorter!

Alan, I really enjoy your work. It was nice to see a bunch of it put together in the feature. I always want to get a DUKW after I look at your bulds.

Thanks for dropping in and the comments. The DUKWs were a popular build. I still need to add the missing fire extinguishers and fill the vents in the side , but I'll get that done sooner or later.

If you're doing a D Day one the stowage was very random, as I discovered after the build, whihc is par for the course lol, lol.

Great feature Alan - didn't realise just how prolific you are! My personal favourite is the carrier with the wading screens. That (like a lot of your other builds) is just crying out to be on a base as part of a wee vignette.

Anyway, just wanted to thankyou for your knowledge, enthusiasm and constant willingness to answer my questions, now matter how stupid!

Thanks. The new Resicast Conversion for the deep wading carrier is pretty user friendly, very do-able if you have a mind to.

Thank you. I have suggested they run a monthly feature starting with the staff to lead the way and broadening it out to the whole community. There is of course nothing to stop anyone submitting their own article but I think the plan is perhaps to have a set format of questions, developments to follow I believe.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful body of work. The story and the work are inspiring. I also wish to express my appreciation for your sharing spirit. Although I did not make mention, your work inspired me much during the recent Paint those Troops campaign.

Long time no speak, but I will admit that your collection is absolutely amazing and shows how dedicated you are, with not just the building, but the research, help to others and the other works that crop up so regularly on the site.

I do not know how you manage to keep such a strong focus, what with the real world that must intervene, so as to keep on living.

Fabulous mate............now you need to keep these shots and add the next gawd knows how many completed projects at you ten year anniversary.

Hello your goodself. Nice to hear form you again. I hope all is well with you and yours.

John, the build list is long and getting longer all the time, so I should have enough to cover the next five years There has been such a mountain of new stuff these last 2 years it's hard to keep track.

Work eats into the modelling time for sure, and the reviews and other stuff take up a bit more but fortunately or unfortunately SWMBO works Saturdays so once I've done my chores I can sometimes get a free run so to speak. The rest is an hour or two each evening to keep things progressing.

just dropped in from aeroscale to say congratulations on a super feature and a fantastic body of work..your collection would put that of most museums to shame .. (I've just come home after a day at Muckleburgh - it wasn't quite as good as I'd remembered it...)

Al, a superb body of work.

My only suggestion would be to add a "crib sheet" identifying the various kits and upgrades used. I can figure some of that out, but I'm sure you'll have admirers who'll want to recreate some parts of your oeuvre.
