What scale are you interested in?
Posted: Tuesday, September 04, 2012 - 01:44 AM UTC
Probably 1:35. It would be easier to work and there really isn't much out in 1:72/76 for the time period I'm thinking (unless I go for a WWI tank). I was looking at some of Mirage's Inter-war Vickers tanks and they might fit the bill if I go the route of a light scout tank.
My budget will also be pretty tight. Reality will be getting in the way of modelling for the next year with college tuition fees, maybe getting a new laptop and driving lessons taking priority.

Great choice, about the best in 1/35 atm! RPM has some excellent Model T trucks in 1/48 if you would like to go a little smaller, and they are less expensive.
I'm already hurting from tuition atm, and I'm praying that I don't need a new computer of any kind any time soon. The time frame for this campaign will be pretty accommodating, so hopefully this will give you a break for your financial situation(s).

Is this to include things like the T-28, A-39, and the VK series of panzers? I would personally count them as 'What-ifs' as they were never used in combat or never made it off the design tables so I ask.

Hi there,
well here´s the idea, or one of them
:

I know that I´m leaning out of the window with this
, but what the hell, that´s what this campaign is about, or not?
I call it the Sdkfz142/3 Jagdpanzer III 128mm zwilling or "Fretchen" (Ferret) for short. I might scratch some of the fighting compartment, but there´s no promises there
What do you think?
Paul

Phill: Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Paul: Looks cool. Will the base jagdpanzer need to be widened? Looking forward to seeing this play out.
Happy Modeling, -zon

Hi Zon,
I´m not sure yet, maybe I can get away with just the wide Kasematt that overhangs the tracks. It all depends on the breach width and ammo stowage.

I'm in. I decided that the End of Days campaign didn't quite fit my entry. I'll be mounting an M55 on a Panzer IV hull. I already have the panzer from Dragon and should have the M55 early Oct.
EoD 2 is going to be awesome, though I have to agree that isn't very post-apocalyptic. Will be interesting to see though.
Planning on doing a T28 or the A39, both seem to be kits you suddenly HAVE to build once you see them (at least that's how I feel!)!

Christopher EOD is the end of days but it is up to the person how the end of days happens ..most people think ( for some reason ) that EOD has to be the after math of a nuclear war but end of days could be nearly anything which destroys life as we presently know it .
You could basically call it End of Days as you know it and you are 100% right .,.,its gonna be awesome

Zon ... I am still working on the project idea ..got the basic idea ,,now i'm thinking of how to arm it

I usually go into a campaign with a back-up plan or two. I'll probably stick with the steampunk panzer...I'm actually favoring an assault gun configuration. Anyway, on the off-chance that doesn't work out I was thinking of maybe an Allied based assault gun. If memory serves, someone did a Sherman version in What If 1. I was thinking of maybe a light tank version. Maybe a M3/M5 armed with a 2 or 6pdr. Or even something bigger.
My question is could I use a vehicle that I already have built and break it down to be modified for the base chasis? If not I have another back-up plan behind that one.

EoD is a great campaign series and I highly recommend that anyone signed up here enlist in EoD as well
Bob: Great to have you on board as always!
Alex: Absolutely! I fully welcome any build that is torn down and reconstructed for this campaign!

Thanks Jeremy. I figured it would be okay but asked just to be safe. I have a couple of older finished kits on the shelf that would work. I actually have an old Italeri M24 that might work.

Unfortunatley, I read Cybermolder's review of the T28 (and I posted in the wrong forum no less!) and there's something wrong with the extra track sections so I won't be doing that, there's always the Meng A39 and the Meinrammer though.
