Hey guys,
Like a bad smell you can't get rid of,I'm back.Yes Chris,335 parts in the Merlin alone.
Anyway,I got a hold of the crew set.Not impressed.The driver has to sit way up front on the seat to work.The standing gunner has his legs a way too spread.The others I used for this dio.I put the Merlin on the dio posts and had 0 response.So I guess you guys are the only ones interested. Here's my bad photos (have to get a better camera).

Another nice busy dio Tom...those figures don't look that bad, considering the scale. Maybe if you could get some clse-ups of a few?

They aren't as bad as I expected.I took another look on the Airfix site before I bought them and shows the set as retooled.The instructions,which I'm sure they didn't change,calls that the front end can't be assembled until the figures are seated.In my case had no problem getting them in.As I mentioned the driver has to be placed closer to the front of the seat for his arms and legs to reach anything.Had to move the machine gun to make the front gunners arm work.The standing gunner will probably work if you are building the vehicle with the figures.He needs to come up from the bottom and I wasn't going to try taking everything apart.The other gunner and driver also need a little trimming of their legs and butt to sit properly.They're all slightly larger than the first figure,but hardly noticable.

Hey those figures really add a lot of interest! I like your groundwork as it looks natural. The arab guys have great poses. You should post this over on the discussion forum on track48.com too. I'm sure all that work would be appreciated. You don't have to sign up or anything to post (I think) and just add direct links to photos. Congrats on one of the biggest dios I've seen

Again my hats off to your Stalingrad.The Afgans were a bit of a pain,fair amount of cutting and trimming to look the part and as you know not easy in 1/48.

looks good Tom, you put alot of effort into it, figures are tough to mod. in this scale for sure.
i like your building especially, structures are fun to build.
