Hello! One of my projects are a Merkava III and two M113 Zeldas. What's the correct color for IDF tanks? The instructions say Sinai Gray. That sounds too vague. Watching CNN and BBC, IDF tanks look to me as khaki colored. Sometimes, they look yellowish. What's the proper color? Thanks!

Good one. I'm not sure myselft, other than to know it changed over time. Tanks in '67 and '73 looked much more gray than what we currently see. Right now they do look khaki green. I'm sure one of our IDF experts wil chime in soon...

Tank sand grey is the name of the colour. If you're using enamels I can highly recommend Hannants 'Israeli Tank sand grey'. If, however, you are using acrylics then Vallejo's 'middle stone' is a very good match.
I have Academy's excellent Merkava mkII special edition kit as well as their M60 Blazer in my collection awaiting building and painting so I have done all the colour checking already and these are the best I came across without having to mix your own.
Incidentally the Vallejo range of acrylics (both the airbrush range and the standard brush range) are, without doubt, the best acrylics I have ever used.
