Jim gives you a peek inside this recent issue of SMA Magazine which was a special issue on dioramas, vignettes, and groundwork.

Hi Jim, very nice review and thanks for the feedback.

Scott Girvan (pronounced GIRvan not girVAN ) of Girvan Media is the publisher and he is located in Canada. The magazine is printed overseas through our partnership with AK Interactive, hence the price difference you mentioned etc. It is also distributed by AK Interactive throughout Europe and is available from them directly at their website. Shops here in the states can get it from Stevens International or directly from us as well. Readers can also purchase directly from our website.

At first glance $12.00 US may seem like a bit much for a magazine, but one thing you will notice in this video (or thumbing through any of the issues) is the lack of advertising. We usually have four to five pages of adverts max (including front inside and back cover) and the rest of the magazine is full of modeling content, seven full features and four reoccurring 'columns'. We are not driven by ad revenue and work very hard at giving the reader far more 'bang for his buck' by doing this.

I have forwarded this review to Scott so he can hear your observations and feedback and possibly take them into consideration for future issues. If you ever have any questions or requests, or want to deal with us directly for future review issues etc. we can both be reached via email.

Thanks again.

(and good grief, I surely hope there aren't too many who remember me from 'back in the day' oink oink)
