Yes, I would like more transparency from companies and I realize that a lot is private business so they don't have to disclose.
But after years, decades, why no kit of this or that when they bought the license and rights? Why did they stop making this and that? What is this company producing? Did that company go out of business? Why is that kit so cheap and that kit so expensive? What is being done to combat recasting? Who is going to be the heirs to this company? Why don't they make this or that? Etc.

Ironically, there is a book out now called "Alien: Blueprints" with detailed specifications and schematics of the vehicles (Licensing is another issue). So a model kit company could make a 100% accurate representation of the ALIENS UDL Dropship and APC in various scales. The green ALIENS Technical Manual has detailed photos of the Colonial Marines and their weapons.

Hi all,
I had the 'Alien: The Blueprints' book for Christmas and can thoroughly recommend it to anyone with a passing interest in the vehicles and craft from each of the movies in the franchise.
I have to say that I wholeheartedly agree with those who said a 1/35th scale Colonial Marines UD-4L Dropship and accompanying M577 APC.
But getting back to the real world it would be great to see some more Vietnam era 'Brown-Water Navy' vessels in 1/35th scale to accompany the, now venerable, Tamiya PBR. If Tamiya or Italeri issued 'Programme 4/5' vessels based on the Landing Craft Mechanised MK 6 Mod 1 (LCM (6)) hulls they would have plenty of scope for variants, e.g. troop carriers - both with and without helicopter landing platforms, monitors - both conventional guns and flamethrowers, and command and control vessels.
As an aside, I was disappointed to see that the Seaforth Publishing's book 'ShipCraft 26: Riverine Craft of the Vietnam Wars' seemed to be cancelled, or at least postponed. I had mine on order with Amazon, but they cancelled the order after many months of waiting.

Maybe someone already mentioned this. I haven't read the entire thread.
I would like to see a good E50 which doesn't have molded-on grills like a 1970s kit nor an impossible suspension. Those staggered wheels would doubtlessly need to be doubled up. As depicted on existing kits, there's no way a real tank could ride on such a flimsy suspension. Not a chance.
Something with a Schmalturm and not some strange sci-fi turret.
Yeah, I know, it existed only on paper. But if you're going to model it as if it were real, you'd have to make the adjustments that would have been necessary for it to be real.
I also know how Herbert A. and one or two others believe that at least some Panther F hulls were being fitted with a Panther II (or similar) interleaved suspension at Daimler-Benz.
Seems a natural for Dragon to pump out another Panther F, this time with that sort of suspension.
And Dragon should do a G turret / F hull hybrid since we do now know it existed. In fact, I expect that should be announced shortly. It's practically a given.

Takom and Afv-club finally did her justice after Dragon's half hearted tries. Afv-club has been teasing an M48, maybe before the new decade is out. 
I have noticed a trend with Tamiya. I know it could be coincidence but it has happened more than once. Tamiya will reissue their old version of a kit and then a couple of years later announce a new version.
It happened with nearly every redux by Tamiya so far to include the Sheridan. (Re-released 2011 after long time OOP then original M60A1 and M60A2 in 2013)
Stuart M3, M10, Matilda all followed same pattern.
I think it's a kind of trial balloon. Other companies watch the big T so may be judging what to do next based on them. But this is a long term process that takes years to come about.
I'm patient.....

I'd never heard of the Ripsaw before - the suspension is evocative of the Sherman mixed with an M60, and the top reminds me of a Czech machine from WWII. Odd duck, that.

I'd like a Textron Howe and Howe Tech M5 "Ripsaw" RCV-Medium unmanned tank with 30mm RWS turret. It's now in LRIP testing stage. It might need to mature a couple more years before a kit is produced.
This machine is really cool and should finally give U.S. Airborne and Light Forces a tank with some 30mm firepower missing since the M551 Sheridan.

Yep I have the 1/35 APC and resin wheels plus the 1/32 resin Dropship
I have been waiting for Tamiya to bring out a 1/16 Bradley with interior, hoping it comes with two turret figures in the higher standard of figures that Tamiya is doing these days.

I'm probably the oddball around here, but I wouldn't say no to an retooled Tamiya 1/16 Abrams to M1A2C spec, or perhaps even a TUSK version in the future. I'd certainly prefer a proper static display piece, but I understand that it's a small market and big kits have to do double-duty for r/c purposes for the investment to be viable.
Trumpeter already have a 1/16 T-72, and I wonder how hard it would be for them to do a T-90M from that? Then again, Trumpy's big kits tend to be hit-or-miss.

Gosh, how I would really like Japanese websites and books (called MOOKS) to be translated into English!
The Japanese have some of the best and most current information and books...all in Japanese text (and I can't read Japanese).
Some of their garage kit vendor websites can translate into English using Google Translate; however, their button functionality doesn't work and the payment methods are still in Japanese, meaning unless one can read Japanese web text, it's difficult to read and buy anything. I'm finding some kits "Made and sold in Japan only."

I realize Dragon has a nice one out there, but I actually "build" Tamiya kits, not just toss them in the stash. My bench time is kind of limited, and I can enjoy the whole process more than if I take six months to get an AFV Club kit ready for paint, but that's just me.
