I wouldn't be too surprised to see conversions from Legend or Black Dog or even Resicast to cover some of the other vehicles mentioned.

Yes, I too am waiting for the three-seater SEAL DPV with the armament, if ever. I don't recall the HobbyBoss FAV shown here having any combat usage in the US Army.

One can add Live-Resin swingarm machine guns to the FAV...

It's ironic because the wait has been so long...for decades...that the actual SEAL DPV is no longer used anymore.

And still missing from the model kit market is the USMC Mercedes G IFAV (now out-of-service) and the M1161 ITV "Growler." There still seems to be a lack of modern 1/35 FAVs in plastic.

Legend, please; just better.

Whilst we talking about SF vehicles, what about an SAS 110 in plastic? Or, a Unimog mothership*? Happy days.

We need a crew for this kit. A 1/35 FAV/DPV on display without a seated crew means it's not in action or in combat.

And please make sure the seated crew *FITS* into the seats...nothing worse than having figures that don't fit properly into the FAV and (whenever) SEAL DPV. I'm sure there are plenty of web photos to base FAV and SEAL DPV crews on.

Looking at images online, there is also a version with a TOW up top. Maybe, given Hobbyboss’s history of multiple versions of a vehicle, that a TOW vehicle kit is out there.

And yes, a crew that fitted the vehicle would be great.

I was in a Scout unit at Fort Lewis, WA that used the two-man FAV's in the mid-80s. They had no roof-cover parts whatsoever -not nice in the rain and snow. They also had aluminum engine block Heads (?) because at one point we were prohibited from even changing spark plugs due to the ease of stripping threads. The clutch took some getting used to also. Acquiring the new HMMV's was like getting a Cadillac. I could still be tempted in a kit though.

There was/is a conversion set for the USMC IFAV using the Revell Wolf as a base kit. The conversion was/is from Azimut.

Excellent first hand information! Thanks Edwin! Feel free to provide info about the two-seaters...paint schemes, bumper codes, kit carried, weapon mounts, radios. If you have pics to post please do so!

First time trying to post and add photos, so who knows if this will work, but here's my scratchbuilt DPV from several years ago.

Just copy the photo's address: http:...jpg . Take this address and place it between the image tags [ img]http... [/ i mg], but without any spaces. That should do it for you.

Link to image looks like this:
http://www.warwheels.net/images/FAVchenowthYoung%20(5).JPG

I click the img-button to get this
img]http://put.url.here/image.file[/img
I removed the first [ and the last ] to make the rest visible.

By replacing this bit: http://put.url.here/image.file
with this : http://www.warwheels.net/images/FAVchenowthYoung%20(5).JPG

I get this
img]http://www.warwheels.net/images/FAVchenowthYoung%20(5).JPG[/img
the leading [ and the last ] are still missing.

By adding them back again I get this:

Would be cool to have real one though, not just the image ...

Very nice. Great job on it. I have seen it before and I believe you sent me plans and in-progress pics of it. I still may build one, maybe using the nw HB one as a base.

Thanks, Gino.

And thanks to others who helped posting, especially Robin, whose very literal steps did the trick for my feeble brain.

Hobby Search Japan still has it on pre-order. They do show a pic of a built vehicle though.

As suspected, it isn't a SEAL FAV or DPV. Not sure what it is.
