Next build (painting time is limited so i can start this while the AEC waits for a painting window).... think it will be the most complex build i have done:

not sure on the paint scheme as the green has no markings whatsoever... will have to see what references I can find, I have some US stars lying around for example

No decals??? Odd.

I built their Diamond T Holmes - cannot remember if it came with decals or not.

Enjoy.

there are decals for the desert version but not the olive drab one. I would have expected stars on the doors at least....

You might try contacting MM - this omission might be an oversight when boxing the kit.

The company has always been helpful to a fault in my experience.

Just rechecked the MM Diamond T Holmes kit and yes, it came with a decal sheet that included small stars. If you cannot find what you need ask for the Dia. T sheet. That will get you everything you need and more!

Nice model (I just love recovery and engineer vehicles, softskins and armored alike) and seems to have up-to-date quality. Will be following this one and add it to my ever growing wishlist...

decided to go civilian on this... Post-WWII british garage. Most likely blue/red livery with black chassis (so imagine a re-purposed vehicle some British Army engineer got when he was de-mobbed)

You might still want to put the question to Mirror Models about the missing decals. It would be interesting to know if something is missing from the kit or perhaps there is some other reason they are not included.

photos.... slow progress but enjoyable (could do with more positive locations on some of the pieces or clearer diagrams in the instructions but so far no major issues)

I would think there might be a small cross piece part that mounts to the engine just between the oil pan and the main crank pulley. This small crossmember then fits between the frame rails. As to the rear engine mounts, perhaps the model gets alone simply with the transmission sitting on the rear transmission cross member.

As to fore and aft location perhaps this is governed by the length of the drive shaft. A disappointing and overly simplified design but functional enough in scale model form.

I do like the brass cab tread plate and all the little PE gusset plates spread around the frame!
