A few in progress shots of Italeri's 1/24 scale Jeep. Using a few studio 27 PE pieces I'm building it as a early Ford script GPW. The frame is basically a GPW frame, I just needed to remove the fourth cross member to complete the transition . On the tub I moved the reflectors up on the rear panel inline with the side reflectors, added the Ford script and the GPW tool box lids. For the front seat I cut off the backs and added the backs from some damaged Hasegawa seats.

Looks great so far. This has always been such a great kit and one that has held up nicely through the years. Good to see it getting a really great buildup from you. Please keep us posted!

Thank you Roy and Jim for your words of encouragement . I'm jut about finished getting all the paint on when I get that done I'll post a couple pic's then it's on to the decals.
When I can get hold of a couple more Italeri kits I have a couple of slat grille's from FC Model Trend so a early slat grill MB build will be in the works
I don't know if I'm not looking in the right place's but it seems the Italeri Jeep kits are getting a little scarce .

Update on My Ford GPW build.
Paint is on, now its on to the decals . I will get mostly the hood done, I need to come up with a few more blue registration numbers for the back panel. As for bumper codes may not put any and just call it fresh from the factory.

Thank you Roy. Decals and touch up may take awhile , in the process of moving my work area out of the basement and back up stairs to my original space. So time to make my work area better. Paint rack, better work table better lighting more shelving for display and storage. The other thing that slows things down is my wife has some of her quilt material temporally stored in my room so no painting till after the first of the year.

Here's a few shots of my finished Ford GPW. Like I said earlter going to call it fresh from the factory so no heavy dirt, no bumper codes just a little dust

The Italeri kit is a nice kit but it does have its short comings. Italeri should think about some retooling starting with those awful driver and passenger seats and as long as it is suppose to be a Willys make that front cross member round like the Willys one is.
Thanks for looking Dave M

Looks great! I've always had a soft spot for this old kit and you've done a fantastic job bringing it to life.
