I came as far as I can with this build for now. Panzer art wheels arrived but I am still waiting for metal barrel and British equipment set.

So, I will make second entry.

Those wheels look great Bogi. I definitely need to get a set.

I have now entered the "breaking off of small bits as I try to prep the final paint" portion of the build.

The worst offender are the two PE plates that act as the shields protecting the suspension from hitting ground debris. They have to be curved on one end, and as is typical there is VERY little contact surface for good adhesion. Right now they are the worst parts of the kit other than no interior under the open vents.

Peter, wheels are perfect but rear hubs are not (I hope hub is right word for part in the middle of the rim.) I will post some pictures and explanation.
Shell, I feel your pain. Good luck.

I made some progress on both AEC and Panzerjager I.

I just finished painting them so I will post more photos later.

I finished AEC Armmored Car.

I added side reflector light and support for boxes on turret, like on this picture

Panzer art wheels are nice, but I think that they are little too high. Biggest problem with them is back hub, which is far too long. I noticed that after gluing with CA glue so I have to live with it.

And real thing

Thanks for the Heads Up Bogi. It seems the centre section between flanges needs to be cut out.

Still looks fantastic though.

As I looked, you have to cut it in 3 places to come to right length. I think that best option is to use Miniart hub and replace only the final screw because Miniart got it wrong, hexagonal.

I am almost finished with Panzerjager I.
I was really lucky with lot of original photos for my Aec build.
And even luckier with Panzerjager I...
So... New tank with number 35 with greenhorn crew in clean uniforms

and their road trip trough desert...

Camping (note - white sneakers and British leather jerkin)

New friends

Posing

More camping (note - musketeer boots and home slippers )

and sand and dust

Lots of it

:D
I have to order metal tracks and to add some details.
Until then I will play a little more with overall dust effects.

Fantastic work Bogi. Looking suitably road tripped.

They are a great sequence of photos. I have seen them before, but did you notice the jerry cans in this one?

I did. There are a few more interesting details on this photos. Seam line on spare return roller, degradation of rubber on wheels, air recognition flag... A picture is worth a thousand words.

Fantastic work on both builds Bogi. I like the dusty effect on the panzerjager.

Continuing work on the Otter today. My goal will be to get the chassis done as most of the build is taken up here, and most of the tiny fiddly bits. Can't help but wonder why they didn't mold certain parts in place. It would speed things up and help with allignnment. The mounting brackets for the suspension leaf springs were especially fiddly to clean up.

You should have seen the 1/35th scale version. Thought I was building a Bronco or Dragon kit, the number of parts that needed to be added.

It wouldn't be so bad if the sprue attachment points weren't quite so big! Makes trimming and sanding that little bit more awkward. How I haven't lost a piece I shall never know.

Chassis is pretty much done now anyway so I'll start on the body tomorrow. Also picked up a bottle of Vallejo British Army Light Mud. Got several Italian front vehicles in the stash, so about time I got a bottle.

Nice! Looking forward to seeing how this one goes. Never seen one of their kits built and always been interested in what they're like. They have an LRDG Ford gun truck on the way that I'm interested in picking up when it's released.

I hope you like a bit of a challenge Cam. I am told the PE turret is a bear to get right!

Making curves is why I dislike working with etch. Luckily the small fret in my Otter are all straight folds!

The chassis is now assembled, minus the engine, radiator and exhaust.
Gave it a quick coat of paint, just to get into all the spaces that will be hard to reach when I spray it later.

The colour came out a bit greener than I thought. Was expecting more of a sand/beige.

Had a spare hour to do a little more today.

Using the interior stowage diagram petbat kindly sharred, I added some details to the can sides. The spare Been barrels were scratched from rid and strip. Still need to do some final shaping before fitting. The T shaped item is the monopod for the Boys AT, which I also made a mount for on under the forward gun port.

Thanks Peter, that's awesome! Will be very helpful.
I'm trying to just recreate basic details, enough to make it look busy. Not a great deal will be seen through the doors at such a small scale. But those pictures will be of enormous help.

Bogi: Nice work, and you are finished so quickly! Nice find on the photo record of PanzerJager I #35. Nice to see a series like that.

I will try to complete this campaign with the Hobby Boss Swedish CV90-40C in 1/35th scale. I will try the white UN livery and also some battle damage, so not sure how up to it all I am, but it's good to have goals!!

Happy Modeling,
