Hello,

I've decided on Trumpeter's VK30.01(H) kit. Here are my re-start pics:

Lower hull and wheels have been given a first coat, so my next step is to mount them and put on the tracks.

Sorry but is this group effort the same as what is listed as "Garage Queens 2019" on the campaigns page?

One of my entries would be the Dragon King Tiger with Porsche turret. This is the earliest construction photo I have of this build but it has most certainly been "in the Garage" for a number of years.

And here is current status with Tamiya "sticker" Zimmerit added. Some weathering has been done and the tracks are nearly complete.

Another entry I would like to submit is my attempt many years ago, at a AFKWX Cab Over Engine Deuce and a Half. I know this model considerably compromises the actual vehicle but I just was NOT willing at the time, to spend the sort of money required to acquire the only available resin kit.

This resurrection came out of the "garage" just a few weeks ago as I decided to finally finish what I had started. The vehicle has since received quite a bit of my attention. I still have the cab interior, headlights and driver to complete.

@Gary
Thanks for the info and if I'm understanding it right then the large one on the right is the sight and the small one on the left is the co-axial .30 cal.

Also got some more work done. Added most of the bits and bobs on the turret. just left are the gas cans and antenna as well as the road lights, one more set of U rings on the body and that weird angled grab bar in the front.

Also filled 2mm void on both sides where the deck did not connect to the body tub due to the back I think sitting a little forwards due to how he body tub is put together

Ok, I'm in. Life got in the way in 2018 and I was left with several unfinished builds. This one, though, I think I started in a hotel room back in 2014. Its time to finish it.

I realized the reason I quit working on this kit was the tools and tow cables. The whole idea of the PE clamps is appealing, but I suck at doing them. I recently bought a set of 3d printed clamps from Shapeways and this is my first attempt at using them. I also ditched the kit tow cables in favor of some model ship rope. So far I'm liking the results.

Some more progress on the Trumpeter M1A1. Paint is mostly done, with some detail painting left to do. CIP panels on front of turret were scratch built and the side panels are from the Tamiya modern stowage set. The rest of the stowage is from Legend, with a few pieces from the Tamiya set. Even more not shown that will hang from the sides. I still have some detail painting left on the stowage, then it's time for decals and weathering. So much for making this a semi-casual build.

At least you guys are making progress. I haven't done a lick of work for my campaign entry. I really haven't done much modeling at all this year despite entering a bunch of campaigns.

Make the time, it's worth it. I've backed out of several campaigns because I'm not feeling those subjects right now. I would love to be retired so I could spend much more time on modeling, but I need to put in another 10 years.

The fact I'm actually finishing builds is a minor miracle. I've got 35+ in-work builds spanning ~25 years on the "shelves of shame". It's taken a ton of mental energy to not start more builds this year. My Abrams will be the 4th build I complete this year. I've got another 5 or 6 builds that are completely painted and ready for weathering. Ultimate goal this year is to burn down my unfinished business by 24 builds.

Procrastination from AMS/build anxiety is what caused me to leave this hobby back in 2004. Not going to let that happen again.

I'm in but I'm not sure what I'll post here. I have quite a few unfinished builds I plan on knocking out this year. Some just need paint, others need a lot more.

I used to get obsessive about my builds. Now I do everything OOTB with only minor addons. Now I finish projects where before the obsessiveness was taking the fun out of building.

Other than leaving the hobby, you're describing me as well. Lots of AMS, lots of reference image hunting, aftermarket scrounging, and shiny new thing chasing later, many of those must have/must build projects languish.
These campaigns are a godsend for me, knocking off old shelf queens. My best was three (??) for last year's campaign.
I've taken to bringing them to Armorcon for the last 4-5 years (I've lost track) and putting them on the tables as well.

Currently knocking off a barely started helo for the Helicopter campaign before getting back to the Jagdpanther.

Finally ready for decals and weathering. Decided to use the "Bushpig Bandits" markings from Echelon. Not looking bad for being the original release trumpy kit. I've prepped a ton of stowage, but I'm not sure if I'm really going to put it all on there. What should have been a casual build, has turned into a much bigger project. I would guess I will have about 55 hours into by the time I'm done. Only 16 years in the making.

Trying to inspire my fellow modelers to work on their UB19 projects. I originally had another old shelf queen, my 25 year old Tamiya M1A1 that I was going to finish together with my Trumpy M1A1.

At some point I decided not to, but then that pesky bastard ended up on my bench yesterday and got painted. I also did some additional detailing that I had missed (loader's hatch grab handle and new 30 mm ammo cans from another RFM Abrams kit). Of particular interest is the Rustoleum Terracotta anti-skid coating. The effect is outstanding, it looks better than any molded in anti-skid I've ever seen on a kit.

The plow still needs the last details added, along with some minor scratch building of missing details. I'll probably push on with the tank w/o the plow for now.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, camera phones aren't so great for extreme closeup shots. Not sorry for the messy desk though.

Ken,
Nice progress on the M1A1. Where did you get the can of Rustoleum you used for the anti-skid coating? Special product or standard off-the-shelf item at WalMart? Keep up the good work.
Take care,

Thanks Don, it's a standard product. I think Home Depot sells it, but I just ordered it from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-7905830-Sandstone-Spray-12-Ounce/dp/B000ZYTXDG/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=terracotta+paint&qid=1553473846&s=gateway&sr=8-2

Gino Q. has a thread on the subject, including the layout diagrams of the anti-skid. I recommend priming first with Tamiya primer. Then mask and spray two light coats.

Calling this one done. Craptastic Trumpeter M1A1HA with original tooling (bad turret shape and side to side position of turret). Corrected the major issues plus a few smaller details here and there. Lots of soft details and disappointments. Also added the AFV club laser reflective stickers to the clear parts. Tracks are AFV club as well. I snapped a few quick pictures. I'll take some better pics later for upload to the gallery.

Your finished tank looks great! No one would be able to tell it was "craptastic".

Just noticed that there is no campaign gallery yet. I will have to bug someone about that.

Hi Gary! I am here with an uncompleted Dragon kit, a T-34/85.

T-34/85 by Burak Cinar

T-34/85 by Burak Cinar

If I complete it before, I can add a 48-scale, pre-painted big cat.
