Looking forward to seeing that built Angel..... was it like a Regt planning Veh with all the Commanders around or in it ? or purely a Comms setup/relay vehicle ?

I will be going firm with a Challenger 1 BOAR, possibly a Chieftain Mk10/11 if i can find a decent priced one, hopefully a CVRT Scimitar (ideally, if I could get one, 1st choice would be a CVRT Striker, but they are like hens teeth as A Armour dont produce anymore ).

It was both, John.

A mobile Regt HQ with all necessary Comms. equipment(phone and radio) for Regt-Div communication. It could also be used as relay station for long distance communication.

John,
I just found Your wonderful idea on the Aeroscale forum. Well, building mainly wingy things, I do remember my short time in the Bundeswehr from 1993 - 1994 as a draftee (is this word correct?) in an Instandsetzungskompanie of the army. Would this be enough to qualify for this campaign?

It most certainly would Oliver, any vehicle you were crewed on or served on is fine. Hope you find something suitable. Great to have you with us.

I frequently and fondly remember my 6 years based in BAOR, Detmold then Sennelager/Paderborn.

Angel, I wonder if I would be able to lean on your previous knowledge and see if you could start thinking about a possible ribbon ? I know there is loads of time to think of one, and if anyone has an idea or suggestion ...... its an open floor

Well my mind has been made up for the first wagon ... its going to be a FV107 CVRT Scimitar, just got it sorted. Now I will need some PE for it to bring it up to spec

Okay, I'm in. I believe I'll be doing a subject near and dear to my heart an LAV-25. You'd be surprised how attached you become to a hunk of metal when it becomes your home for 7 months...

Looking forward to seeing your LAV John, and your GAZ Angel..the interior scratch build will be worth the wait to see Angel... I'm still annoyed I cant get the accurate armour CVRT Striker... will still be starting with a Scimitar, then a Chally 1 ..

Now we must just start working on some 1/35 scale drawings of a South African Ratel 90 IVF or the landrover version we used in Angola.

Pasi,

I may be displaying my ignorance here (it doesn't take much ) but is the vehicle's name a coincidence? Or did you choose that name as your screen name because you served on the vehicle?

Michael, it's coincidence. The vehicle name comes from panssari (armor in Finnish) and Sisu (vehicle manufacturer). Pasi was also relatively commonly given name between 1960-1979, and it's also my real name.

Nice looking kit, Pasi!
i'm eager to see how it builds.

Welcome aboard, Oliver!
Will be interesting to see how you'll manage those challenges!

As a side note- I did some work on a possible campaign ribbon.
I'm not that gifted in creative art, so I only come with one proposal(to choose from ):

It represents a golden bar with MEMORIES inscripted on it.

Any other ideas are welcome,

Merry Christmas to all!

Seasons greetings Angel, and the campaign ribbon you took the time to do looks fine to me, so I will take the command decision and say we can go firm with it...thanks for doing it. Hope everyone has a great festive break with family and friends. John

I'm in!

I have several vehicles to choose from that I have kits of in the stash:

Italeri U.S. Army Standard 5-Ton Truck (M925)
Italeri M977 HEMTT Heavy 10t US Truck
Tamiya Command Post Carrier M577
Tamiya US M151A2 Ford MUTT with M416 Cargo Trailer

I'm really not sure which one I'd build. What do you all think?? (I do lean towards the HEMTT though)
