Thanks Chuck. Good to get the accolades from someone who was there.

Love your finished kit, especially the bumper numbers... I was in Charlie Company “First Tank” and was the TC for C32 back in 1984.

I liked that the paint job was done by free hand since that how most of the M48s were done in the time I was in Korea. But, there was far more green than earth, followed by black... Lots of “Joes” ended up using gloss black from time to time in spots, like on the front slope, which was often done with rattle cans. Also, very little sand color was used towards the end of their life cycle.

The M48A5 was a good tank, but very dated, even in 1984, but could take on a T-55 or T-62 without issue. But I felt better when we received depot “new” M60A3 tanks in the summer of 1984.

Being officially an old fart, I love that modelers are now showing an interest in the forgotten M48A5 tank and other American Cold War Armor. On a side-note, relating to forgotten American Cold War Armor, is the M114 APC. I never seen one in the field, but only on the range as tank gunnery targets around 1980, but it was simply a cool little APC with two M60 MGs and the M2 Heavy MG... I’m still dreaming of a good plastic kit of the M114 and the straight M60 MBT kits to hit the market... Surprised that Trumpeter hasn’t jumped on this yet.

Sorry for going off into the the far left field!! But thanks for sharing you M48A5 project with us all!!
