Hello guys! This is my first post here in Armorama.

This is about the Revell 1/72 Leopard 2A6/A6M (03180) inquiry. I am planning to model this into a Leopard 2E. Can this kit be modelled as 2E?

Thank you in advance for those who will reply.

Greetings Amante and welcome to Armorama. From what I have read in a few articles, the majority of differences between the Leopard 2A6 and the 2E are under the surface, so to speak. A 2E is basically a 2A6 with additional armour on the turret front and sides and internal equipment changes to cater to the Spanish Army requirements. So it seems the Revell kit is fine, you'll just need appropriate decals.

Cheers,

No, you can't build a Leo 2E OOTB from the 2A6/2A6M kit. Leo 2E uses extra roof and hull front armor that are not included in the Leo 2A6/2A6M kit. Strv.122 would be a better starting point

Thank you. That's what I've noticed when I checked on 1999.co.jp and compared the instructions for the hobby boss 1/35 German Leopard 2A6 to 2E. I did not noticed any difference. So I decided to raise this question here.

First mistake Hobbyboss. From what I've read none of their Leos are accurate. Turret roof and hull nose armor are way different from the A6.
