IBG has a couple kits of the French 75 in Polish service coming out. I don't know what it would take to back-date them to WWI, but it's a start.


Quite a lot I’m afraid, as the wheels, tires, axles, brakes and gun shield would all need to be replaced/ modified to represent a WWI era ‘75. But I’ll bet somebody will produce one in the future, now that all these WWI vehicles are hitting the market.

IBG has announced a French 75 WWI version. Given their past cadence, I would expect it in 2 to 3 months.

Since I was talking to a US Hobbyshop retailer I am going to assume he was telling me when it would be available to him here in the US.

You know, the more I study this photo, I don’t think this is an FWD. I think it’s a Jeffry Quad ammo carrier, of which over 41K were produced. It looks just like this one, whereas the FWD has some boxes that overhang the chassis. Lukgraph offers a resin JQ.

I'm no expert, but I woulds stick to the FWD ID. Here's a Jeffery/Nash Quad ( the Jeffery company was sold to the Nash Company in 1916, which produced the Quad under the name of Nash Quad) :

the Jeffery has a longer "nose" (among other differences...).

Not the same truck IMHO...

Thanks Frenchy— to the rescue again! They do look very similar. In fact the box looks the same. I think the defining factor is the transfer case under the center of the chassis— looks like the JQ/N doesn’t have one. I wonder if the box bodies were the same for both.

Just got my ICM order in on the FWD Type B WWI cargo truck from the LHS.
An amazingly well done kit if I do say!

As an F.Y.I. if you are in the Louisville, KY area Scale Reproductions has three more of these kits on the shelf but they won't last long!

My thanks go out to Grant Robinson who was nice enough to share his unused cloth top from his Liberty Truck. I hope to section the top and make it narrow enough to use over the driver's area of my FWD cab one day!
