So will the little bio-terror running amuck, how many kits been placed on hold for add-ons, paint etc. A M1114 I've been working on is shelved due to waiting on P.E and some paints. I only have Hobby Lobby here and now with Model Master line of paint phasing out, I'm pretty much mail order only. I've opened the box on Meng's M1a2 Tusk kit having pretty much everything I need to complete the project. Sprue Brothers is good for most needs, but they don't have the items for the M1114 I need. Good luck out there!

I am waiting for an etched set for the Revell / Zvezda Merc Maultier to ship to the UK from HK - literally by ship.
Still, I did start the kit in 2012, so I'm not in a real hurry.

So far, nothing. It takes forethought and planning,I have been alternating between two projects, doing one while waiting on another part or paint.
I just received something for a project that is still probably a month out to start.Service has been pretty quick from my suppliers and Ebay

All I face is a 54 minute drive to HobbyTown USA to get my goods. Just picked up the ZM Hs 129 kit last Friday.

As I don not maintain a large stash, and am very selective in buying, I have used the time to finish up several shelf queens, one of which had sat for well over 10 years.

It has been the opposite for me! I have finished more models in the first six months than the last three years... only problem is that I have almost run out of glue

COVID 19 crisis is taking on alarming proportions in some countries. I don't understand there are so many peoples who are against protection equipment and behaviour.

A combination of lack of leadership, responsibility, and common sense.

I've had a lot of trouble getting some Wilder finishing products, or at least the retailers I use have had trouble getting them. Other than that, I've been able to get what I want quite quickly.

COVID is raising hell with the Japanese Postal system. I ordered a couple of kits from HLJ, they were shipped on April 22...still haven't received them yet. I didn't track them so I might be out around $40.00. I ordered some 38(t) tracks on eBay from a guy in Russia in March. Tracking said it was accepted by the post office in Moscow....and nothing. Out of Luck. There aren't a lot of flights coming into the US from other countries right now. That's why I'm buying everything in the US now. BUT...I can't find the old Tamiya SAS Africa Jeep anywhere here.

Ya can't fix stoopid !

I did dive into my stash during "Safer at Home" and started 8 kits, ZERO finished, and a diorama. The dio is done, kinda, it looks too neat. On the bench now is RFM's Fehrmann Tiger. Not building it as a Fehrmann but an early Tiger from '43. RFM gives you lots of extra parts, enough to build a bunch of different Tigers. My library shall be my friend!
Stay safe & mask up !

Thanks Mike, I'm looking for the old Tamiya kit. The one with the two British SAS guys with Arab head gear. I don't really need it right now....but I want it. I just got the Legend set of SAS in Tropical dress and want the Tamiya Jeep. I know it's old but I always liked it. I'll get it when this whole mess is over.

PS:I believe the one at Scale Hobbyist is an old Italeri rebox from Tamiya.

Yeah...That's the one. Seems you can only order it from Japan or China. I don't want to risk it. I'll wait until things settle down...if things settle down.

Yeah, that’s what I would do. I did see an eBay seller from Texas that has that kit, but currently, bidding is the only buying option. ... On the other hand, I have made successful purchases by bidding on kits in the past. Might be worth a shot.

Good luck and stay healthy.

A man after my own heart. Pretty much the same here. Pak 43, Mi-8, Takom SUV, couple of Trumpeter PMC figures all shelf queens RIP.
Couple of new builds Bandai Hilfolfr and the Ak130.

Hip deep in a long long long term project, now adding the Meng Porsche KT interior bits to a WIP DML Jagdtiger w Jaguar interior.

Last HLJ order made it just as this kicked off, but at higher shipping than I'd have preferred. I've got some of the 3d printed 1/72 Hind cockpits trapped in the Russian mail system that Im not sure I'll ever see either.

Spure Bros and the facebook graveyard auction group inside the states have kept me in 'new' kits and bits.

Glue.. I've got .. enough.. for now.

Stay safe everybody

I've been teleworking since mid-March, and the way things are going with the rise in infections, I could very well find myself retiring in place and never see another day in my work chair on site. I had planned to retire at the end of the year anyway, but not this way. So, yes, I have been dabbling with my shelf queens, particularly M47's. I actually joined the Unfinished Business campaign to help with the motivation. Seems to be working. I'm not building/weathering every day, but it is a start.

About a month ago I tried to cut off two of my fingers with a power saw. I can't use my left hand....yet. They managed to save one finger and partially amputated the other. I'm off work, I work in a prison so I was not off for COVID, and have tons of time to model. Only problem is....I can't use my left hand. So I started using my airbrush and painting some kits that needed it and some that didn't. It is a fix for my modeling urges.

I had a similar situation when I bought a kit from a seller in Lithuania. It said it was shipped in April and was supposed to arrive in early June. It didn't arrive until July 1st. The seller had a 100% rating so I wasn't too concerned about not getting it. But I am holding off on ordering anything from overseas for now.

Thanks Michael, I have never built the Pink Panther. I am primarily a WWII builder. It does look interesting though. Maybe I'll try it someday.

It’s not just things like overseas mail order that are being delayed due to COVID-19. We’ve all heard abut supply chain disruptions in certain foods, TP, hand sanitizer, face masks, gloves and disinfectants. But I was at my local Home Depot the other day, looking for some stain and clear varnish for a woodworking project I’m doing. I was shocked to see the paint isle for stains and spray paints nearly empty (conversely, they had a ton of hand sanitizers, overflowing into the main aisle!) I couldn’t find the paint I wanted, so drove up the road to Lowe’s— same thing! Still looking, I ended up in my local home town Ace Hardware, which is a good store, but usually my last resort for paint items. Again, same thing, shelves nearly empty! Out of curiosity I asked the guy running the paint department what was going on— he told me transportation for paint products has been delayed to free up transportation of “essential” items, and as a result, many manufactures are facing a stockpile overage, causing them to cut production. This in turn has created an “accordion effect” in the paint industry, so paint stocks either come in gluts, or not at all, paint is an “on demand” item, usually automatically restocked by bar code and computer ordering systems . I haven’t checked my local hobby shop or stores like Michaels or Hobby Lobby to see if it’s affecting the hobby paint industry yet. I assume manufacturers like Tamiya, Gunze, Vallejo, Mig and others aren’t affected, but I wonder about Testors, which is owned by Rustoleum, probably the largest paint manufacturer in the US.

Just a little example of what maybe the real story. I have a real good friend retired from the military medical area. He has a friend here in NC USA that is a nurse. So her and some of her coworkers took 5 test never given to a patient. They send them in and all 5 come back positive. They tried to inform the news. They were fired and threatened with arrest if they talk anymore about it.
