Dose anyone know of a sealer that can be put on over metalizers such as Alclad II or SNJ, without altering the affect?

It is recommended to spray Alclad II at 12-15 psi from a distance of 2-3 inches away from the model for the best results. The paint can be masked within 10 minutes of application and when cured, you can spray any other type of paint over it. No sealer is provided as it is not needed.

:-) Yes thanks m1, I've got and used the Alclad, it's a sealer I'm looking for. I've thought about using Klear (Future) but I'm not to sure if that wont change the look of the metal finish. Do you know if the sealer works, does it alter the apperence of the natural metal finish like some varnishes do with colour coates?

Hi Mal,
I practice one simple solution to resolve such questions : give it a try !?
Why not paint a piece or sprue or an old model and see what the effect of different sealers can be ? From my own experience, sealants DO influence the metal effect, though.

. I have never used a sealer though.

I think one of M1's links was to the Testors Metallizer Sealer. I've seen it before with the Model Master paints in my local hobby store. Give it a try if you can get it in the UK.

:-) Yep GeneralF, I would normally give it a try but Alclad is about 4quid a bottle so I didn't want to waste any on trials if I didn't have to and I don't fancy trying it on a painted model. I was hoping someone had tried it.
:-) Yep m1 you don't need a sealer but I need something to hide decal film, or decal edge. After anumber of years dirt etc shows up the decal film and/or the decal edge so what I'm looking for is something to cover the edges of the decals.
