Klaus,

Nice job on the modifications.

Like the figures too. Could you give some info on their manufacturer and what modifications you are making to them.

Thanks Dave, the figs are the ones that come with the Academy M113A2 kit from Academy, I have a lot of them in the spares box and I decided to interchange some of their parts between them and also with Tamiya figures leftovers...

Hi folks, I started my 2nd entry. Iīll left the AIFV build for a near future, and since I received new pics of some chilean vehicles, I decided to scratch and kitbash a M577 of the Chilean Army. This one contains the main parts from the Tamiya kit and the interior and exterior detail parts from the Academy kit. Thereīs also a great amount of scratch. Pics:

Hope to finish something like this:

Lot of work to be done yet and corrections, of course....

Hey guys,

Here's my entry for this campaign. The Academy M164 Vulcan SPAAG.

Jeremy, this Vulcan has the markings of a 2nd Armor Division vehicle. I believe this build was for other countries' M113s.

Here are some of pictures before weathering. The Esci decals were printed out of register, but I don't have any replacements.

Hey guys,

Just saw the thread despite it being around for aaaaaages. Im going to be modelling the M113 as it saw service with A Squadron 3rd Cavalry Regiment, Royal Australian Armored Corps in Vietnam in about 1968. Rather than the Cadillac Gage T50 turret, my Bucket will be sporting the early low version gun shield for the single .50 Cal MG.

Kits
- Tamiya US M113 ACAV
- Firestorm Models M113 Australian upgrade
- Firestorm Australian APC crew ( x2 ) and tank riders (x4)
- Mouse House Australian M113 stencils.

Although this will be a cool project to work on for the Bucket campaign, I also want to model the new AFV Australian Centurion and whack the two in a diorama depicting a joint operation in the 'Dark Green' AO in Phuoc Tuy province in South Vietnam. But then again, December is only 5 months away! :-)

Rob, even the decal problem, you did a great job on that little kit, looking forward to see its final weathering. Also itīs interesting the color you achieved, congrats.

Aaron (I guess thatīs your name), welcome aboard, an aussie bucket will be another grat addition to the campaign.

Hi folks,

Hereīs my (1st) entry almost done, gotta re-do the work on the right side decals (sorry for that, I know that looks awful ) and paint and add some few details yet....

The model was painted with Vallejo Acrilycs, drybrushed with gun metal in some parts and finally a heavy weathering applied using Tamiyaīs Weathering Master Set....

The pics...

One thing actually make me happy. Trying to find an accurate paint for the interior (to get the duck egg-like colour) in Vallejo Model Color, found that the closest choice (at least for me) was the Azul Palido (Pale Blue) Nš 906, so if someone itīs trying to get that one, itīs a good choice.

Now to finish the M577....and the figures....and the dio....oh well

Cheers

Hey Klaus,

a most impressive model mate, and thank you for showing the build pics as well, they really help to understand what you have done to the base kit.

One thing, and i am not nit picking here, in the 6th pic from the top, does it look,.to you, like the M-113 is leaning to the right? Could be my eyes, or maybe the angle the pic was taken at?

Iīll post pics of the vehicle bigger than the previous, hopefully almost ready.

Hey Klaus,

that looks even better in the bigger pictures and you are right there is no lean there at all.....unless it was leaning the other way this time

Hi folks, hereīs my last entry (i guess... ) for this campaign, Chilean Army M577.

The model itīs the old Tamiya rendition, improved with a lot of things:

- Base Interior, tracks, engine and a lot of bits came from Academy M113
- Detailed interior from scratch
- Straps with masking tape,
- And a long etc.....

Was painted with Vallejo Acrilics, weathered with Tamiya Weathering MAster. Hope to start making bases for all my buckets soon :-)

Pics:

Comments welcome as usual

Slowly progressing on mating the resin VCC-2 hull to a chopped up KIFV lower hull. But things to do around the house and playing with my MEOW entry keep stealing time.
