Hybrid panzer VI ausf B

For this model I picked up my first Tiger B model (DML 6232). The idea was to create a "what if" Tiger B with initial hull (like the first 5 Tigers B delivered to FKL 316) and the last know version of the turret (from march '45). The zimmerit on the hull was hand made with milliput (white extra fine). The yellow base coat was sprayed with Vallejo acrylics than the green pattern was made using the Model Master Acrylic Oligrun 1943. Some parts like the covers on the air intakes were scratch built some others were taken from other kits or the Lion Roar King Tiger set (like shields on the exhausts). Filters, washes and pigments come from MIG Productions.

Excellent work, Pawel. The effort expended to create such intricate wear and weathering really comes through on all levels. I particularly like the contrast between the hull, turret, and gun elements. The primer shields on the engine deck also add a nice dash of color. -Doug

Lovely to see this up on the site Spit. All that hard work paid off, particularly the chipped zimmerit, which I know was a real headache for you. The feeling you wanted to capture with this has been done perfectly, the primer barrel looks great too. Top marks, lets see some more additions to Kampfgruppe Berlin! James

Doug, Ed & James thank you friends, your comments are really mostly appreciated. James, just something funny came to my mind. The zimmeritless places have been really painful, who said making your own zimm is a difficult part???!!! Just try to make right the places it has fallen off LOL thanks to you and couple of other guys I finally made it spit

Pawel, Really super concept! Now that you've kit bashed this beast, with excellent results, Dragon may come up with just such a kit . . . LOL. Enjoyed your build log and great to see your project in the Photo Features gallery.
