1928 MAN Tram

  • move
The images of the 1928 MAN Tram that Hans-Hermann Bühling has shared with us should be excellent rewference for anyone tackling one of the MiniArt Tram kits. The pictures were taken at the 120th anniversary of Strassenbahn (streetcar/tramway) in Plauen. Hans even managed to get a ride on a 1928 MAN built tramway. Hans believes this is the same as the MiniArt kit, but it should serve as a painting and detailing source for the MiniArt kit.

Aarrgghh ! Lots of narrow white pinstriping on the outside, I would fear that part of the paint work ! Thanks for the images !! / Robin

What Mike said ! Pin striping could come from decals out of the model car world. I have this kit and haven't started it hoping that Miniart or somebody else comes out with civilian seated riders. Thanks for sharing the photos H-H ! Tom

Thanks for the pics H.H. even though I think this tram is more recent (if I may say so ) than the one released by Miniart. Just compare the pantograph on the roof to the kit one...but I guess interior pics would be helpful anyway ! H.P.

Hi Gang, I found out that the tram is not identical with the Miniart kit. Maybe it`s an improved model with a modern day pantograph. But I guess we have to find proper refernces about these vehcles. The driver said that the uniform was also a replica, as close as possible to a real one. Modellers please take note that the doors of the tram were always open , even in winter since it was too awkward to open and close them by hand.
