Rzhev Meat Grinder

  • move
Shawn built this knocked out KV-1 for the Battle Damage Campaign and incorporated it into a small scene depicting three German grunts inspecting the burned out wreck of a KV-1 M1942. The KV-1 came from Trumpeter, with some added parts from Bronco. The figures are from Master Box and Dragon.

All of the painting, and weathering was done using AK Interactive or Ammo of Mig products.

This scene pays homage to the 1942 Battle of Rzhev that resulted in massive casualties on the Soviet side, earning it the name 'The Rzhev Meat Grinder'.

I lurked this outstanding work during the ‘Battle Damage Campiegn,’ and it’s great to finally see this remarkable vignette up front in the features section for many to view. Nicely done, Shawn!🍺🍺🍺 —mike

I've never seen the burnt out KV-1 tank. But this look very realistic and reasonable. Nice job
