MBV-2

  • move
This is MBV-2 from Hobby Boss painted with Tamiya colors and weathered with oils and AK products. John tried as best as he could to imitate the rather sloppy camouflage painting seen on the original. The engine vents were molded shut so he cut them open and placed an engine from a T-28 there so it would not look completely empty. There is a rather nice maxim quad for AA defense included, but not as detailed as the offering from Miniart. So John added the missing details such as the AA sight, the protection devices for the barrels and hoses for the water cooling system. There is no interior whatsoever except for the quad so the easiest way out is to build the model with the doors shut and save the maxims for another project. But why do it the easy way when you can do it the hard way? So John scratched his head and started scratch building the needed parts using the references available on the net. And as usual, a lot is not seen when the turrets are in place.

Cool build and an interesting paint scheme. I really liked the extra details that you used on the kit. Thanks for sharing!
